GROUND WHITE PEPPER
Centuries ago, pepper was so valuable and rare that it was even used as currency. In abundant supply now and one of the world’s most popular spices, it is a berry that grows in grapelike clusters on the pepper plant. White pepper is preferred as a seasoning for a vast array of food and dishes including soups, stews and sandwiches – for its sharp and zingy flavour. It is also preferred in light coloured sauces and foods like mashed potato to provide a better aesthetic. It can be used to flavour and tropicalise both sweet and savoury dishes. Enjoy!
